Sheep Nutrition and Water Security Workshop Series
As part of South West NRM’s Farm Efficiencies and Sustainability Towards 2030 (FEAST2030) project, Southern Dirt is delivering a series of practical workshops and case studies designed to support growers in building more productive, resilient farming systems.
This project is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program.
What’s the focus?
The FEAST2030 project targets key areas that help improve on-farm efficiency and sustainability, including:
- Feed efficiency
- Water security
- Perennial pastures
- Enhanced farm dams
Our workshop series focuses specifically on feed efficiency and water security, two critical areas for improving profitability while adapting to a changing climate.
What you’ll gain
These workshops are designed to provide practical, hands-on knowledge that you can apply directly on your farm. Through the program, we aim to:
- Improve feed efficiency
Build your knowledge and confidence in sheep nutrition and feed budgeting to help meet production targets, reduce emissions, and improve resilience. - Strengthen water security planning
Support better decision-making around water conservation, capture, and investment to ensure long-term farm sustainability.
What’s included?
Over the course of the program, Southern Dirt will deliver:
- Two Sheep Nutrition Workshops (2026 & 2028)
- One Sheep Nutrition Case Study
- Two Water Security Workshops (2026 & 2027)
- One Water Security Case Study
