ABOUT THE PEEL

The Peel region encompasses 5 shires, 4 of which are located in rural environs with farms and farmlets dominating the landscape.  This emerging Perth/Peel Peri-Urban environment requires a new focus and representative base that ensure that our Peel based farming and landowner activities can thrive within their own unique circumstances. The Peel Growers Hub is free to join and membership has been paid by the Peel Development Commission for all farmers in the region for the next two years. There is nothing to lose and much to gain.

The formation of a dedicated and organised representative hub of Peel producers will deliver multiple benefits for all. Interest groups such as equine, horticulture, livestock and grains will be established to bring about the best solutions for all.

CURRENT PROJECTS

We are developed 3 signature pilot projects for the region to begin our journey.

  • 2021 – Future Food Conference and exhibition that connects farmers, industry, consumers, health practitioners and researchers together to showcase future of food concepts in Australia. February 2021.

  • 2022 – Plan and guide our partners to deliver the best possible services in the agri-innovation precinct for producers throughout the region and beyond.

  • 2023 – Premium Beef Supply Chain – Bringing together Peel and South West beef producers to develop premium value add products for market. We need these regions to come together in the Beef industry and it has been the number one ask of all our Beef producers to develop this concept. Meetings have started and a proposal is in development.

More projects are in negotiation with Grains Research and Development Corporation and Meat and Livestock Australia.
