Project Overview

Investment:

COGGO & GRDC

Project Duration:

Two years (2020-2021)

Project Host(s):

Two sites required each year for two years. Expressions of interest welcome.

Project Aim

To encourage the adoption of long season wheats into crop rotations through farmer scale demonstrations. To demonstrate time of sowing, best available varieties suited to the area, and the opportunity for grazing without yield penalty.

Preliminary Findings:

This trial was postponed to 2020 due to the late break.

We are looking for two growers to host the trial sites in 2020.  Each site will have two times of sowing, the first in late March/early April, and the second time of sowing late April/May (local grower practice). Five varieties will be trialled at each site including a control of a common spring type wheat variety.
